England Vs New Zealand

England Vs New Zealand: Alex Hales determined to get off to a good start

  • England is set to go with an extra batter for their T20 World Cup opener
  • Jos Buttler’s side faces Afghanistan on Saturday as they begin their tournament
  • Liam Livingstone is ahead of schedule in his return from injury and is set to play
  • Left-arm bowler David Willey seems in line to replace the injured Reece Topley
  • Alex Hales has emphasized the importance of England starting positively

England plans to go into the T20 World Cup here on Saturday with all guns blazing after determining to pack their team to face Afghanistan with all their big-hitting batters. Liam Livingstone is set to return ahead of the timetable from the injury that appeared to damage his World Cup hopes and could bat as low as seven, while he will be combined in the middle order by Vice-captain Moeen Ali and rising star Harry Brook.

England T20 World Cup

It represents something of a change of emotion by England T20 World cup Captain Jos Buttler, who likes to have as many bowling choices at his disposal as possible and was thought to be leaning toward the all-around talents of Sam Curran at seven. So now the skipper and coach Matthew Mott look certain to choose both to take on Afghanistan’s array of spinners, led by the outstanding Rashid Khan, at a Perth Stadium not renowned for helping the slower bowlers.

If any batsman is under threat it is believed to be Alex Hales, who seemed to cement his place at the top of the order when making 84 in the first of three internationals against Australia at the start of this tour but has done slightly since. Hales has done enough to make the team now, not least because of his experience and excellent record in Australia, but if England does decide to go with an extra bowler in subsequent competitions he could be vulnerable. Both Ben Stokes and Dawid Malan could open.

Chris Jordan

The desperately unlucky absence of Reece Topley, who fears he will need surgery on the ankle he damaged while stepping on a boundary marker in Brisbane on Monday, may open the door for the astonished choice of David Willey. The selection of Willey in Topley’s place would retain a second left-arm option for England along with Curran and he seems to be just ahead of England T20 World Cup Player Chris Jordan, recurring from injury himself, and Chris Woakes in the bowling pecking order.

England Vs New Zealand: Mott has been at pains here to say the line-up could be dissimilar in each game as England encounters different situations around Australia but picking the extra batter does seem to be something of a mission declaration. England knows, with only five games in a Super 12 group that comprises both last year’s World Cup finalists in Australia and New Zealand, that they cannot afford any early slip-ups if they are to reach the semi-finals, as Hales pointed out on Thursday.

We just have to get off to a good start,’ said Hales. ‘It’s dissimilar to franchise competitions.  ‘More often than not you have 10 to 14 sports in those and it’s not the end of the world if you’re finding your feet in the first few games. But with this being only five games it’s so important to find early momentum.’ Providing Hales does get the nod his arrival at the top of the order on Saturday will be the culmination of a return that looked as if it would not ever happen when he was initially left out of this squad.

Jonny Bairstow

But another freak wound, this one to Jonny Bairstow, opened the door for a man who was banished by England on the brink of their fruitful 2019 50-over World Cup campaign when it emerged he had failed a second test for fun drug use. ‘I’m very excited,’ he added. ‘I’ve enjoyed being back around the squad in Pakistan and now here. Australia is a place where I’ve got a lot of good reminiscences so that experience will be significant to me and hopefully play a big part in our batting line-up.’ To know more about England T20 World Cup Tickets click here.

England Vs New Zealand: A repeat of the 2021 Final awaiting New Zealand at the start of their 2022 movement

England Vs New Zealand: The ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup is now in full movement and before long the competition will reach its next stage, the Super 12s, where New Zealand Enters the competition. Last year’s compressed finalists, the Black Caps will surely be among the front runners in this year’s competition as they look to avenge defeat by this year’s hosts Australia.  And ahead of their opener against Australia on Saturday – we look at the New Zealand squad in focus.

2022 Prospects

New Zealand has been drawn in Group 1 of the Super 12s, alongside Afghanistan, Australia, and England, with two extra teams – one from Group A and one from Group B of the first round also joining.  They will need to come in the top two of those six sides to spread the knockout stage, which they have done in the preceding two versions of the T20 World Cup.

The Kiwis enter the competition in mixed form, having lost to South Africa and Pakistan, but recently enjoying victories against Bangladesh (twice) and against Pakistan in a T20 tri-series.  A 3-0 series overthrow to the West Indies before that shows how much their form has been up and down, but they will be hoping to head into Australia to recover their constancy.

Having made it to the semi-finals in the previous two World Cups, New Zealand will expect to be there for a third successive time, but with both England and Australia there as well as Afghanistan – it may be easier said than complete.

T20 World Cup History

New Zealand has played its part in every single ICC Men’s T20 World Cup since the inaugural competition in South Africa back in 2007 – where they lost to Pakistan in the semi-finals.  In their next four competitions – 2009, 2010, 2012, and 2014, the Black Caps failed to make it outside the Super 8s or Super 10s and into the semi-finals.

England Vs New Zealand: But, nine years after their last arrival in the knockout stages, the Black Caps finally returned there again, with all facets of New Zealand cricket dramatically improving at the same time. They lost that semi-final by 7 wickets to England and then went one better in 2021.

Attainment of the knockout stages for the second successive T20 World Cup, New Zealand earned revenge on England in the process with a five-wicket victory, only to suffer an eight-wicket defeat to adjacent Australia in the final. Now they look to go one healthier and win their first-ever World Cup. To know more about New Zealand T20 World Cup Tickets click here.

Kane Williamson
Kane Williamson

Best Batters

When looking at the best batsmen in the New Zealand cricket side, they simply do not come healthier than Kane Williamson.  Debatably New Zealand’s greatest ever, Williamson has been a key member of the Black Caps’ rise to fame in all three forms of the game and is still one of the best players in the world now.

Mainly known for flourishing in Test cricket, where he remains sixth in the batting rankings, Williamson has an average of 32.72 at the T20 international level, including a high score of 95.  In the new narrow defeat to Pakistan, New Zealand T20 World Cup Captain Williamson top counted for the Black Caps, scoring 59 from 38 balls to assure over his form.

Ranked 5th in the ICC MRF Tyres Men’s T20I Player Rankings, Devon Conway is the man to get New Zealand going as an opening batsman.  Averaging an astonishing 52.27 from his 25 innings, with an enticing high score of 99 not out, he is the man to set the tone for the Black Caps alongside Martin Guptill.

Best Bowlers

New Zealand’s batting is a strength, but they are not without a top-excellence bowling line-up either.  Their long-standing company consists of Trent Boult and Tim Southee, who, like Williamson have grasped the art of all three formats in New Zealand’s most successful run.

Both Southee and Boult have unresolved records at the T20 level and are surely one of the most imposing opening bowling combinations in the T20 World Cup this year. Southee’s 122 T20 international wickets have come at an average of 24.62 and Boult’s average is even more impressive, taking 66 wickets at 22.71. The pair is finished by spinner Mitchell Santner, ranked 12th in the world, with 80 wickets and 22.4.

At the beginning of their 2022 season, New Zealand will face a 2021 Final replay

The ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup is currently in full swing, and soon it will advance to the Super 12s, where New Zealand will participate.

The Black Caps, who lost to the eventual champions Australia last year, will undoubtedly be among the favourites this time around as they try to exact revenge on their opponents.

And before their opening match against Australia on Saturday, we take a closer look at the New Zealand team.

2022 Prospects

In Group 1 of the Super 12s, which also includes two additional teams—one from Group A and one from Group B in the first round—New Zealand will play alongside Afghanistan, Australia, and England.

To advance to the knockout stage, as they did in the first two T20 World Cups, they must finish in the top two spots among those six teams.

Cricket fans can book the New Zealand T20 World Cup Tickets on our website at exclusively discounted prices.

The Kiwis begin the league with a mixed record; they have recently won against Bangladesh (twice) and Pakistan in a T20 tri-series, but they have also recently lost against South Africa and Pakistan.

Their inconsistent form is demonstrated by a prior 3-0 series loss to the West Indies, but they will be aiming to improve going into Australia.

New Zealand hopes to reach the semi-finals for a third time in a row after doing so in each of the past two World Cups, but with Afghanistan, England, and Australia all present, it might be more difficult than it sounds.

T20 World Cup History

Since the first ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in South Africa in 2007—where they lost to Pakistan in the semifinals—New Zealand has participated in every single one of them.

The Black Caps were unable to go past the Super 8s or Super 10s and into the semifinals in their following four seasons in 2009, 2010, 2012, and 2014.

But the Black Caps ultimately made it back to the knockout stages nine years after their previous appearance, with all aspects of New Zealand cricket substantially improving at the same time. They fell short to England in that semifinal by a margin of seven wickets, but they improved in 2021.

New Zealand defeated England by five wickets to advance to the knockout rounds of the T20 World Cup for the second time in a row. However, in the final, they were defeated by neighbouring Australia by eight wickets. They now aim to surpass that feat by winning the inaugural ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Best Batters

When comparing Kane Williamson to the other top batsmen on the New Zealand cricket team, there is just no comparison.

Williamson is still one of the top players in the world today and is arguably New Zealand’s greatest player in history. Williamson was a vital part of the Black Caps’ ascent to prominence in all three forms of the game.

Williamson, who is most known for excelling in Test cricket and currently sits sixth in the batting rankings there, has a T20 international batting average of 32.72 and a maximum score of 95.

Williamson led the Black Caps in scoring in the team’s recent tight loss against Pakistan, scoring 59 off 38 balls to demonstrate his form.

Devon Conway, who is ranked sixth in the ICC MRF Tyres Men’s T20I Player Rankings, will serve as the opening batter for New Zealand.

He is the guy to lead the Black Caps alongside Martin Guptill, averaging an astounding 52.27 from his 25 innings and posting a tantalising top score of 99 not out.

Best Bowlers

Although New Zealand’s bowling lineup isn’t as strong as their batting lineup, they do have some excellent bowlers.

Trent Boult and Tim Southee, who have been teammates for years and, like Williamson, have mastered all three formats during New Zealand’s most illustrious run, are the other half of their enduring alliance.

One of the most powerful opening bowling combinations in this year’s World Cup is undoubtedly Southee and Boult, who both have tremendous T20 histories.

Boult’s average is even more spectacular, capturing 66 wickets at a rate of 22.71, while Southee’s 122 T20 international wickets have come at a rate of 24.62.

Spinner Mitchell Santner, who is ranked 12th in the world and with 80 wickets and 22.4, completes the duo.

New Zealand T20 World Cup

New Zealand needs to take one last step at T20 World Cup

Always the attendant has become a defining metaphor for New Zealand’s recent knowledge of white-ball cricket finals. Runners-up in the last two 50-over World Cups in 2015 and ’19 and last year’s T20 World Cup, New Zealand has been part of the big time but ultimately not the center of attention.

New Zealand T20 World Cup

This time, New Zealand will take one of its best-ever teams to a T20 World Cup. It has strength in all areas, experience, and the memory of those fresh near misses to fuel its drive. This is a golden era for New Zealand cricket. It won the first World Test Championship in June of last year to go with that collection of finals arrivals in the limited-overs formats. New Zealand opens with a rematch of the 2021 final against defending champion Australia on Oct. 22 in Sydney.

Strengths

To use a baseball metaphor, New Zealand seems to have all bases enclosed. Few squads will come to the tournament with a more balanced squad. New Zealand T20 World Cup has batting hardness from Devon Conway and Kane Williamson, hard-hitters in Glenn Phillips, Daryl Mitchell, and Jimmy Neesham, unresolved pace bowling from Trent Boult and Tim Southee along with the fast pace of Lockie Ferguson, and top-class white ball spinners in Ish Sodhi and Mitchell Santner.

It has the all-around talents of Santner, Neesham, Mitchell, and the recent detection of Michael Bracewell. It also is one of the world’s best fielding squads and has finals experience: only three players who took part in the 2021 T20 World Cup final are not recurring.

Weaknesses

The glib remark would be that New Zealand’s weakness is winning the white ball finals. They’re good at receiving the finals, but not good at winning them. New Zealand has no obvious weakness in personnel or balance but can be accused of discrepancy and a tendency to play to the level of its opposition. New Zealand T20 World Cup Captain Kane Williamson has recently been below his best form.
New Zealand T20 World Cup Captain Kane Williamson has recently been below his best form.

In a threatening group alongside England, Australia and Afghanistan the Black Caps can’t afford an off day. Wounds to players such as Daryl Mitchell and Lockie Ferguson are a current concern. New Zealand T20 World Cup Captain Kane Williamson also has recently been below his best form but sent a half-century in the narrow loss to Pakistan in Friday’s tri-series final at Christchurch.

Key Players

Conway is the dependable anchor of the New Zealand batting order. He can open and bat through an innings as he later did for 70 against Bangladesh in the New Zealand Tri-Series. Conway’s mastery of all arrangements has been powerful in New Zealand’s recent test and white ball cricket achievements. He comes into his own in T20 cricket in which he averages 50.87 at a strike rate of 136. His 814 runs in T20 internationals comprise 456 from bounds. He also can keep wickets and is a bright outfielder.

New Zealand T20 World Cup Player Phillips is one of the most difficult weapons in New Zealand’s battery of hard hitters. Coming in at the top of the order, he can swing competitions and disrupt bowling plans with his fast scoring. Mitchell and Neesham have similar aptitudes lower in the order but Phillips can set the pace of the innings early on. He has upheld a strike rate of 142.35 through 46 T20 internationals in which he has scored a century and five half-centuries and has hit 75 sixes.

New Zealand T20 World Cup All-Rounder.
New Zealand T20 World Cup All-Rounder.

Leg-spinner Sodhi adds a key component to New Zealand’s varied bowling attack as a violent spin option. He has a component of fearlessness in his nature which makes him particularly effective. He’s unafraid to fly the ball, even against violent batting, and he can find turns on most surfaces. Spinners often are called on to play a covering role in T20 cricket but Sodhi offers a clear wicket-taking ability with 101 wickets already to his credit in 78 T20 matches.

Squads:

New Zealand T20 World Cup: Squad, Predictions, and Schedule

The underdogs of all the ICC competitions over the years are the men in black. New Zealand T20 World Cup Team has always completed well in all ICC events and a similar performance is predictable at the World Cup. The Kiwis have shaped a few greats of the game. Sir Richard Hadlee, Martin Crowe, Stephen Fleming, and Brendon McCullum! All these Blackcaps have left a permanent impression. So, how does the squad form up like before the ICC T20 World Cup 2022? Here is a look:

Expected Playing XI:

Strengths of New Zealand

The strength New Zealand T20 World Cup in batting is the top 3. They are a top-heavy batting unit. But they are also a bottomless batting unit. They have lesser-known names in statistics 6 and 7 but both those men can get the job done. Kane Williamson will have to choose whether Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell, or Mark Chapman will open the batting with Martin Guptill. In bowling, the duo of Lockie Ferguson and Trent Boult will bother the antagonism a lot. To know more about New Zealand Vs Australia Tickets click here.

Weaknesses of New Zealand

There is an obvious faintness in the middle-overs and the role of a finisher. The role of the finisher is very crucial. The other teams have selected players for this role. Australia is coming with Matthew Wade, India is coming in with Dinesh Karthik, and Sri Lanka is getting Dasun Shanaka. But New Zealand has Neesham and Michael Bracewell. Bracewell has borne that he has what it takes but on the global phase, he is yet to be established. And who will bowl in the middle-overs with a belief is the query.

New Zealand T20 World Cup Squad.
New Zealand T20 World Cup Squad.

Chances

The chances will be plenty. The first chance is for New Zealand as a team to clutch the T20 World Cup for the very first time. The squad does have what it takes to go all the way. The players just need to achieve their possible. Lockie Ferguson missed the World Cup last time. He will be keen on showing his ability to the world.

Threats

The New Zealand T20 World Cup squad has a past of injuries. In crucial competitions, we have seen significant players out due to injury. Kane Williamson has also been treating a tennis elbow injury for a very long time. The fans will be hopeful that the forte recedes at the earliest. Lockie Ferguson is also a fragile creation. Another threat is not being able to find the correct mixture.

Prediction New Zealand Squad

The team will most perhaps make it to the Semi-Finals. They will surface second in Pool A behind Australia.

New Zealand T20 World Cup: Jimmy Neesham declines central contract

Neesham made the message just four days before New Zealand T20 World Cup team announcement for the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia which begins from October forwards. New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham on Friday weakened a New Zealand central contract. The announcement was made on Instagram where he clarified that he had already given his promises to other leagues in the world.

The post was public just four days before the squad announcement for the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia which begins from October forwards. Neesham was handed two of the empty spots in the list, replacing Trent Boult and Colin de Grandhomme, but the all-rounder had to deny the proposal, which he was expecting in July, owing to his set plan of appearance in other leagues.

New Zealand T20 World Cup bowler Boult denied the contract earlier this year because he consumed more time with his family and played other leagues in the world while de Grandhomme superannuated from international cricket. Although he admitted that he hopes to reappearance to the side shortly, especially for multi-nation events.

“I know the news of my choice to decline a central agreement today will be seen as me picking money over representing my country,”

Neesham sent on an Instagram story. To know more about New Zealand Vs Australia Tickets click here.

Jimmy Neesham

I had planned to accept an agreement offer in July, but since being left off the list I have dedicated myself to other leagues around the world. It was a difficult decision but I have decided to honor those promises rather than go back on my word to re-sign with NZ Cricket.

“Playing for the [Blackcaps] has been the greatest honor of my career and I remain committed to taking the field with my compatriots for the foreseeable future, particularly in pinnacle world events.”

Neesham presently will appear in the sale for the South Africa T20 league. New Zealand will name their T20 World Cup team on September 20. They will gear up for the occasion with a tri-series in Christchurch containing Pakistan and Bangladesh, between October 7 and 14. New Zealand will play their T20 WC opener against Australia at the SCG on Oct. 22.

Meanwhile, Blair Tickner and Finn Allen have caught their maiden deals with New Zealand Cricket.

T20 World Cup: Gary Stead hails the position of Jimmy Neesham and Mitchell

New Zealand T20 World Cup: jimmy Neesham and Daryl Mitchell have wired the middle-order of New Zealand and Gary Stead has called it an extra ahead of the World Cup. Whenever an ICC competition starts, all the judgments are on the big weapons like England, India, and Australia, but New Zealand always tells tales and plays a brand of cricket that impresses everybody. However, they have not been able to convert those presentations into silverware.

jimmy Neesham and Daryl Mitchell

The Blackcaps are playing a lot of white-ball cricket fast of the T20 World Cup, and they will be looking to go one step ahead this time. Currently, they are playing the T20I series in West Indies, and how they are playing on those wickets has been unresolved. Gary Stead, New Zealand head coach has highlighted the rank of having great finishers on the side. All-rounder Jimmy Neesham has been outstanding for the side in recent months as the closer, and he has played well in the ongoing series against West Indies as well.

New Zealand T20 World Cup

Daryl Mitchell, who unlocked for New Zealand in the last T20 World Cup has also been given the middle-order errands with Devon Conway going up the order. The emergence of Michael Bracewell has also been enormous for the Blackcaps ahead of the World Cup. The position has called it a great luxury to have on the team.

It’s a nice treat when you look around, Stead said. Guys like Jimmy Neesham, the way he over that first game was bizarre, coming in and scoring 33 off 15. Daryl Mitchell showed his power in the additional game, striking at 200 or a little bit more as well. We’ve got Michael Bracewell, who played the last willing and adds power, and we’re yet to see Mitchell Santner. The position has also talked about the importance of Glenn Phillips in the team.

Phillips has been vivid in the shorter formats, and he is now performing well in the international tour as well. He has scored three mid-fifties in the last seven T20Is. Apart from batting, he can bowl, he can do wicket-custody, and he is brilliant on the field as well. Glenn’s batting’s been bizarre, he’s got good power, but then you couple that with what he can do in the field, it’s attractive and special as well, Stead added. T20 World Cup: Gary Stead maintains ghosts of 2019 won’t haunt NZ

Haven’t heard everything spoken about it, I’m not sure everything from that game will come into it. England vs New Zealand in a World Cup here we go again. In 2019, nothing but border countback separated the two sides in the 50-over World Cup final at Lord’s as England snatched the title. Two years on, they will express each other in the T20 World Cup semi-final in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

Eight players from that 2019 group, including the injured Lockie Ferguson, are part of the 2021 group that has made the rigs. However, New Zealand head coach Gary Stead has insisted that the affected result from 2019 will not influence Wednesday’s fixture. I haven’t heard whatever spoken about it [2019 World Cup final here, Stead said. I think the guys are looking onward to the prospect of facing England again.

Gary Stead

As I said, they’re an excellent side and yes, we just look forward to the trial of playing the best side as well. So, I’m not unquestionable there will be anything from the 2019 game that will come into it maybe a Super Ended it might. England will be without Jason Roy for the rest of their movement after the opener suffered a calf wound. Despite the enforced absence of the inaugural batter, Stead was wary of England’s white-ball might but said that New Zealand won’t veer away from their unique plans.

He’s an excellent player and first and foremost you don’t want to see anybody go down hurt like that, Stead said of Roy. I mean we had the same with Lockie Ferguson and we know that we felt that as a big loss I’m sure England is as well. I imagine someone like Bairstow to probably go up to the top of the order and they’ve got several players that can do that.

Stead hailed New Zealand’s development to the semi-finals

But they’ve also played with the idea of floating different players at different times, so maybe they’ve got match-ups they can do against us. But I don’t think that will modify the way that we approach the game. We’re looking onward to playing England again and being I guess a one-off game, where anything can occur. Stead hailed New Zealand’s development to the semi-finals, and they are now two ladders away from holding two world names in the same year,

Having already won the opening World Test Championship in June earlier this year. I’m very, very pleased with the team and the way they keep discovering ways to fight and to adapt on the main stage, he said. I’m not sure when you line respectively player up man for man a lot of people that maybe give us the credit that some of these guys deserve. It’s a pretty skilled group of guys now who know each other’s games very, very well and know the skills of apiece other. As a collective group, we do fight and contest hard. That’s all I keep asking for.

The consequences, at the end of the day, will look after themselves if we do those petite things well. One of the little things that made a big influence on New Zealand in a virtual quarter-final for them against Afghanistan was their fielding, rendering to Stead. It’s often an over-rated aspect in modern T20 cricket, but New Zealand showed that it could still make a change. After Devon Conway set the tone with a fantastic catch behind the stumps, despite being wrong-footed, Jimmy Neesham and Kane Williamson pulled off plummeting catches.

Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips

Also aggressively toured the boundaries as New Zealand pinned down Afghanistan to 124 for 8. We held onto some very, very good catches, in specific, and I guess you start to see the skills of the modern-day cricketer as well, Stead said. What Daryl Mitchell did in the first ball of the last over was unbelievable really. I think he not only saved four runs but perhaps saved another 10-12 runs in the setting of what might’ve been in that over. So, that put us on the right base, and I guess gave us that real high and lift leading into our batten innings as well that it was 125 and not 140 possibly.

You never know with those little things, but they do make a big change and I thought Kane took a great catch, Jimmy Neesham took countless catches, and Devon did as a warden there to get the first wicket as well with the one-handed grab. They were all significant things for us. So, we pride ourselves on that and hopefully, it backs up the job the bowlers are doing as healthy.

However, the Black Caps gained sufficiently from their last T20 tour before the World Cup starts in October, hospitable back several rested key players. Phillips said New Zealand was ruined for choice in their attack and their turners could prove damaging in Australia despite wickets that usually offer more for pace bowlers.

“Enormously so, especially our finger spinners,”

He told journalists.

” Ish (Sodhi) being able to turn the ball both ways assistance, and having a wrist spinner in the side is absolute gold.”

But the way that Michael Bracewell and obviously (Mitchell) Santner do their thing ropes being able to have that extra equilibrium.

“Going into Aussie (Australia), that is going to be energetic with the bigger boundaries as well,”

Phillips said the West Indies had been a useful preview for what to suppose in Australia T20 World Cup for the Oct.16-Nov.13 World Cup.

“We’ve had the ball grip a little bit more particularly with that new ball when it grips a little bit so I because it can play very comparable to the way Aussie will, particularly receiving later on into the competition,”

He said.

“So (we’re) trying to take this knowledge and use them as much as possible.”

New Zealand now switches arrangements with a three-match ODI series against West Indies opening on Wednesday before title to Australia for another ODI series next calendar month.

Australia T20 World Cup

The last World Cup in the United Arab Emirates was a tad unsatisfactory, with teams batting second and controlling thanks to the dewy evening conditions hindering bowlers. There will be no such problematic down under, though. The Australians will take some discontinuing. Aaron Finch and David Warner make for a formidable opening company, with Glenn Maxwell coming in to provide rockets. The pacy Pat Cummins and miserly Josh Hazlewood will then put the crush on teams. India was disappointed not to win the last competition.

They have a deadly bowling attack that comprises Jasprit Bumrah and possible wildcard Umran Malik, plus turners Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin. England’s Jos Buttler has been in extraordinary form at the IPL, with four centuries. The prospect of seeing him smash the ball through the air against a backdrop of azure skies is a tempting one. Attractive batting will not be in the short source if the likes of Nicholas Pooran and Andre Russell (from double champions West Indies) and Quinton de Kock (South Africa) fire.

There will be a step from Shaheen Shah Afridi (Pakistan) and Kagiso Rabada (South Africa), New Zealand’s formidable bowling unit (Lockie Ferguson and Kyle Jamieson, Tim Southee and Trent Boult), and leg-spin from Afghanistan top Rashid Khan. All Ash’s favorites will be staging matches. The MCG, with its 100,000 sizes, will host Australia against England on October 28. There will also be matches at the attractive Sydney Cricket Ground (48,600) and Adelaide Oval (55,317), plus the more imposing Gabba (42,000) and Perth Stadium (61,200). Hobart’s Bellerive Oval (20,000) and newcomer Kardinia Park in South Geelong,

T20 World Cup which has only been presenting cricket for six years will stage games. It’s 45 miles from Melbourne. The semi-finals will be at the SCG and Adelaide on November 9 and 10, and the final is at the MCG on November 13. The finalists start on October 16, before two groups of six battle it out. England, who won the competition in 2010, has a tough group.

They need to surface in the top two to make the semis, with Australia, Afghanistan, and New Zealand among the five sides that stand up in their way. We all know Australia hosts a bizarre World Cup from their 50-over events. The 1992 edition is remembered as probably the best, and 2015 was also an achievement. There’s certainly a lot to look onward to later this year.

Incessancy key for Black Caps ahead of T20 World Cup

New Zealand T20 World Cup the Black Caps let a small slice of past slip from their grasp in the third and final Twenty20 against the West Indies in Jamaica. In the third T20 at Sabina Park in Kingston, the Black Caps only gathered 145-7 from their 20 overs, a total the West Indies continued to chase down with eight wickets in hand and an over to spare. As a result, the Black Cap’s charming streak in all formats came to an end at a record-totaling 13 matches instead of stretching to a record-breaking 14.

After charming their first-ever white ball series in the Caribbean with their 90-run destruction job in match two, a new record would have been another feather in the team’s cap. Even if the fact that the first 11 wins were against Ireland (three one-day internationals and three T20s), Scotland (two T20s and an ODI), and the Netherlands (two T20s) does take approximately of the gloss off.

The start of the Black Caps’ T20 World Cup movement a trans-Tasman showdown at the Sydney Cricket Ground on October 22 is just over two months absent. Their focus now turns to the 50-over format, where they have a three-match sequence against the West Indies in Barbados and a three-match series against Australia in Cairns, together a part of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, to circumnavigate in the next month.

Black Caps’ T20 World Cup roster hadn’t been sighted their loss to Australia in last year’s

The T20 World Cup squad will be named before the team collects in Christchurch at the start of October for a tri-series with Bangladesh and Pakistan, culminating in a final at Hagley Oval eight days earlier than New Zealand’s competition opener across the ditch. When the series against the West Indies began last week, a full-strength Black Caps’ T20 roster hadn’t been sighted since their loss to Australia in last year’s game in the United Arab Emirates. But after three competitions the first a 13-run win where 12 players were used, it’s clear the favored method of coach Gary Stead, captain Kane Williamson and those about them hasn’t altered significantly from one major affair to the next. Clarity on roles is somewhat cricketers routinely cite as a key issue when it comes to presentation and the Black Caps shouldn’t have any anxieties there, which will be a boost for their accidental come October and November. Lockie Ferguson is spinal after missing last year’s T20 World Cup with a premature injury.

Devon Conway has taken up initial the batting alongside Martin Guptill

While Devon Conway has taken up opening the batting alongside Martin Guptill, with Daryl Mitchell, shoehorned in there at the late poster in 2021, now sitting in the middle order. The first-choice XI looks mainly the same, barring that change in the batting order, but two players are knocking on the door one of whom seems to be closer to playing a part than the additional. That Finn Allen didn’t get a run crossway the three matches in Jamaica was a bit puzzling. The 23-year-old has plenty of potential as a power-drumming opener but hasn’t faced opposition stronger than Bangladesh to date in his international career,

And this would have been the perfect accident for him to do so. Michael Bracewell played the last two matches as a spin-bowling choice first and foremost, taking 3-15 off four overs of off-spin as the Black Caps won another match and the sequence, then 0-14 off two as they lost the third. The Wellington Firebirds veteran has been the big winner from the team’s travels crossways five different countries over the past five weeks, but whether he has done sufficient to be a factor at the T20 World Cup is another matter.

Situations are unlikely to be the same in Australia T20 World Cup

Using the same pitch at Sabina Park for all three T20s brought rotators to the fore, with seamers Lockie Ferguson and Trent Boult inactive out matches two and three correspondingly as the Black Caps went with a tweaker-heavy approach. Situations are unlikely to be the same in Australia, where the Black Caps are arranged to play in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide as well as Sydney.

But a spin-bowling all-rounder remains a useful choice for Stead and Williamson to have. The defending champions will be short-odds choices to defend their title on home soil, but no team has ever gone back to back at T20 World Cups and New Zealand are every chance of being in the combination come to the semifinals.
