Wales Football World Cup fans driving to Qatar in electronic car

That is because they are itinerant 5,000 miles (8,000km) by electric car. Even Wales Football World Cup captain Bale – usually supremely poised with anything Welsh football-related – has his worries. But the group is poised they will be there to see him lead the team out against the USA on 21 November. The group set off in the wind and rain on Friday morning, intended for sunnier climes.

Wales Football World Cup fans driving to Qatar in electronic car

“We know most people think this is a mad plan – we’ve smooth had Gareth Bale himself sat in the car looking a bit unsure about we can achieve this,” said Nick Smith. But we’re self-assured in the car and we’re up for the challenge. We’re driven by both a love for football and a desire for the optimistic change electric toss can bring to people and the planet.

Wales Football World Cup

“There will be bumps in the road for sure but we’ve got loads of provision behind us and we can’t wait to get to Qatar and join the other fans and provision Wales in their first World Cup in 64 years.” He will set off from the Football of Wales’ (FAW’s) HQs at the Vale Resort, Vale of Glamorgan, on Friday with former Cardiff City footballer Scott Young and fellow fans Huw Talfryn Walters and Walter Pennell.

Their car will be a solely electronic vehicle they have nicknamed Morris and Mr. Smith said he believed if Wales could get to the Football World Cup “against the odds” then “so can we”. The drivers will be collecting emails of support for Wales along the way, as well as stopping at football-themed breakthroughs, such as the Uefa headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

Scott New, who played for Cardiff City from 1993 to 2004, said the idea can be about from an office chat between staff at Nathaniel Cars, and he supposed they would be the first Welsh fans to set off for the rivalry. In total, the journey will take them through 19 countries, counting France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, and North Macedonia, before they spread to Greece.

They aim to arrive in Qatar on 18 November

A ferry will then convey the car from Athens to Israel before it passes through Jordan and Saudi Arabia. They aim to arrive in Qatar on 18 November – a total of 22 days after the location of. It will also be three days before Wales’ crucial opening group match, the first Football World Cup appearance since 1958. “In the north part [of Europe] they’re quite widespread [charging points], but after we travel down to Belgrade and North Macedonia, distances are a bit longer and it took a bit more preparation,” Mr. Young said.

A ferry will then convey the car from Athens to Israel before it passes through Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

“But it should be fine. Then crossways to Israel, it gets a bit tougher, in especially Saudi Arabia, where there’s no electric charger substructure. “We will have to charge from industrial units or at hostels.

That’s where the jeopardy becomes real.” FAW chief executive Noel Mooney said the trip signified “all that is good” about Wales, adding: “We will check in with the guys every day to ensure they are on the right road to Doha and that they have originated a socket.  “We can’t wait to meet them on the other lateral before we face the USA in our opener on 21 November.”

I don’t want any it of it’: the Wales fan’s exclusion Qatar World Cup

Envisage being a Wales fan and not going to the Qatar Football World Cup. It is the first time they have fit since 1958, which was so long ago that the goal that bashed them out was scored by an unknown teenager called Pelé. Sixty-four years advance and it is Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey, and Rob Page looking to set the world on fire. What a time to be alive! But, for some Wales fans, they are going to pass, thanks very much.  To know more about England Vs Wales Tickets click here.

Some of the same groups who found themselves in waterworks of trance in Zenica, on their way to Euro 2016 despite defeat by Bosnia-Herzegovina, or who phoned home to delay their return one more time as Chris Coleman’s team became the feeling of the finals in France, are choosing to sit this one out. If anyone has reckoned with the complicated issues surrounding this much-maligned competition, it is them.

Qatar Football World Cup

Kevin Davies is a veteran of closely 70 away trips with the Welsh national team. He has seen them lose in Montenegro and Macedonia and get punched 5-0 by Georgia. He was also in the stadium in Bordeaux six years ago when it brusquely transpired that 25,000 had made it to the Slovakia game and were belting out the anthem in unison.

“If I was English there would have been no hesitation in my mind, I wouldn’t have gone,” he says. “But for a Welsh supporter, to choose not to go to a Football World Cup is a huge decision. It may not ever happen again in my lifetime.”

Kevin Davies is a veteran of closely 70 away trips with the Welsh national team.

For Davies, his quarrel for staying at home begins with an ethical thought, one that dates back to 2010. “Was awarded the rivalry,” he says, “my immediate response was: ‘I don’t want any part of that. It’s not a footballing decision, it’s a cash decision.’”

He was aware then of the disparity in humanoid rights between the Gulf state and his nation. But that in itself would not have storm whistled him traveling to the country. “I’ve been to China, I’ve been to Israel, I’ve been to America, places where human rights and governments are not popular,” he says. “But I look dissimilar lye rent way: I was going there to provision Wales against that country. Going to Qatar is dissimilar. It’s endorsing the Football World Cup, it’s sanctioning Fifa.” To know more about USA Vs Wales Tickets click here.

Kevin Ashton,

Another Kevin, Kevin Ashton, isn’t going either. He lives in Caerphilly and hit up and down France in a camper van for a month in what he calls the time of his life. He tags the decision to award the competition to Qatar as “unlucky” and says the country’s treatment of refugee workers and sections put him off before Wales even fit.

He also says the apparent pledges that certain laws – such as those regarding displays of public affection – might be relaxed during the competition almost make the thing they rely on they’re saying they do have laws that aren’t consistent with most other republics and we’ll go back to it once everyone’s gone,” he says.

But the feeling that this competition wasn’t for either supporter extended beyond a political or moral thought. Indeed for both, the thing that seems to nag them most is a fear that it … just might not be any fun. “Now we’ve qualified my major motive for not going is the logistics,” says Davies. “How are you going to get there, how much is it going to cost to stay in places, will it be informal to do it?”

He labels how most of his friends are avoiding the limitations of booking lodging through the official Football World Cup portal by remaining in Dubai in its place. But that entails a shuttle flight before dawn on the day of a game. “I know a lot of people who are going, I’ve got no problems with that, but they’re jumping through so many hoops.”

Football World Cup

Ashton says his whole stay in France cost less than half what he anticipated 10 days and three group games in Qatar might cost him, noting that by succeeding through the playoffs (with victory over Ukraine) whatever cheaper flights or lodging might have been available was missed by Wales fans.

“If you’re going to go anywhere and spend 5K, 6K, 7K,” he says, “when you’re coming back you want persons to be like: ’Don’t bring it up, he goes on and on about it all the time!’ I don’t want people asking me how it was only to say: ‘It was all right.’”

Both men mention their nervousness over recording a positive Covid test and the knock-on effect that might have on their experience. Last week Qatar dropped the obligation for a negative result upon entry, but perhaps too late for it not to have been limited in traveling fans’ thinking.

Either way, it seems “hassle” has played largely on both men’s minds. That’s not to say that there isn’t the odd pang of uncertainty about their choice. “Perhaps I might feel a bit differently if we achieve what we achieved in France,” Davies says. “I don’t want us to lose sports, I want us to win the World Cup! But if that happens it’s going to be pretty poignant.”

The comfort for Davies,

The comfort for Davies, who ties his away travel to fundraising work for the football charity Gôl, is that there is always another rivalry around the corner.

What does India’s loss to South Africa signifies for Pakistan’s hopes in the 2022 T20 World Cup?

What India’s loss to South Africa signifies for Pakistan’s hopes in the 2022 T20 World Cup?

India’s chances suffer as well. To guarantee a berth in the semifinals, they must now win their remaining two games.

South Africa’s five-wicket victory against India puts them one step closer to a semi-final position while also endangering Pakistan’s prospects of qualifying. Here is a snapshot of the teams in Group 2 with six games remaining.

South Africa

Played: 3, Points: 5, NRR: 2.772, Rem matches: vs Pak, Neth

South Africa is in a great position to secure a spot in the semifinals with five points already in the bank, a fantastic net run rate (NRR) of 2.772, and a match against Netherlands still to play. They will almost probably advance if they defeat the Netherlands and get up to seven points. Even if Bangladesh and Zimbabwe win their last games to finish with eight and seven points, respectively, South Africa’s NRR ought to be sufficient to qualify. India still has two games left, against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, and if they win one of those games, at least one of those teams won’t pose a threat to South Africa if they reach seven.

India

Played: 3, Points: 4, NRR: 0.844, Rem matches: vs Ban, Zim

Due to their defeat by South Africa, India must win their final two games to guarantee their qualification. If they defeat Bangladesh but fall short against Zimbabwe, South Africa and Zimbabwe might potentially end with seven points or more. If Bangladesh defeats India but India defeats Zimbabwe, Bangladesh and South Africa would advance ahead of India. They will be keeping an eye on the weather as well because Wednesday, when India and Bangladesh play, there is currently a 70% possibility of showers in Adelaide.

Bangladesh

Played: 3, Points: 4, NRR: -1.533, Rem matches: vs Ind, Pak

Bangladesh and India are on an equal footing, however if it comes down to NRR, Bangladesh may lose because of their significantly lower NRR. They must win at least one of their final two games against the two Asian heavyweights in order to remain in the running. Regardless of other outcomes, they will qualify if they win both and finish on eight.

Zimbabwe

Played: 3, Points: 3, NRR: -0.050, Rem matches: vs Neth, Ind

For Zimbabwe to remain in the running, they must win both of their remaining games. They will end up with only five points, which is almost definitely insufficient, if they defeat Netherlands but lose against India.

Pakistan

Played: 3, Points: 2, NRR: 0.765, Rem matches: vs SA, Ban

The defeat of India by South Africa has harmed Pakistan’s chances. Pakistan may end with a maximum of six points, while South Africa, if they defeat the Netherlands, can reach seven points. If India loses one of their final two games and finishes with six points, though, an NRR matchup between the bitter rivals is still a possibility.

For instance, if Pakistan wins its final two games and Bangladesh defeats India, who then defeats Zimbabwe, all three Asian countries might end with six points and compete for the final slot (if South Africa beat Netherlands and finish on seven). If India loses a game, their NRR could decline, which could be advantageous for Pakistan because theirs is relatively healthy at 0.765.

Netherlands

Played: 3, Points: 0, NRR: -1.948, Rem matches: vs Zim, SA

With zero points from three games, Netherlands are out of the tournament.

As it happened – T20 World Cup, India vs South Africa in Perth

South Africa top Group 2

They defeated India by five wickets and still had two balls left. That is also a statement victory. India defeated Pakistan last week, but South Africa has now demonstrated that they can handle pressure after they came back from being 24 for 3 and limped to the halfway point on 40. At that point, Aiden Markram and David Miller changed their strategies, slammed 76 runs in 10 overs, each scored a half-century, and ultimately secured a comfortable victory.

Don’t forget, though, that South Africa led the way on the field. They had superb speed players who excelled at using the short ball. Overall, India’s attacks were also excellent. Although they employed longer lengths and discovered swing, both captains ultimately had to take a chance with their spinner usage. Temba Bavuma continues to struggle with the bat and failed once more, but he made the right choice by only giving Aiden Markram one over and using Keshav Maharaj for three.

They combined to give up 33 runs in just four overs. R Ashwin was dismissed by Rohit Sharma, who then used him to deliver the 17th over. At that point, South Africa needed 18 balls to score 25 runs. Even though Tristan Stubbs was dismissed by Ashwin after they took 13 off of him, it was too little, too late.

The rest of the group, especially Pakistan, whose chances of making the semifinals are greatly impacted by this outcome. Due to South Africa’s victory, Pakistan must not only overcome South Africa on Thursday; they must also hope that either South Africa loses to the Netherlands or that either India loses to Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. For the game between South Africa and Pakistan, I’ll be back with you. Enjoy your week.

State of Play in Group 2: Does India defeat hurt Pakistan most?

The Group 2 qualifying stakes are starting to take shape after three sets of games, with South Africa leading and Pakistan still having a lot of problems.

However, there is still much at stake as the squad competes for a place in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup semi-finals in 2022. We examine the current situation as it stands.

Who’s in the driving seat to reach the semi-finals?

Due to their victory over India, South Africa now leads the group with five points.

India and Bangladesh, both on four points, are closely following them.

India has the advantage between the two teams with a net run rate of +0.844, but Wednesday’s matchup between India and Bangladesh now seems much more important.

Zimbabwe had a chance after their incredible victory over Pakistan, but after their shocking defeat to Bangladesh, it will require extraordinary efforts for them to finish in the top two.

South Africa is now the overwhelming favourite to advance from the group after defeating Bangladesh by 104 runs, giving them a Net RR of +2.772.

Can Pakistan still make it?

Pakistan needs to do something extraordinary to go to the semifinals after suffering two defeats, both of which came on the last ball of games against India and Zimbabwe.

Additionally, India’s loss to South Africa has dealt a further damage to their prospects, making it more difficult for Babar Azam’s team to qualify.

Pakistan will have six points if they defeat South Africa on November 3 and Bangladesh on November 6.

Although not mathematically impossible, Pakistan is utterly out of its control, and it is appearing less and less probable that six points will be sufficient.

Due to South Africa’s victory on Sunday, Pakistan would not be able to overtake Temba Bavuma’s team even if they defeat the Proteas in their upcoming encounter.

A large margin of victory in at least one of the remaining games wouldn’t hurt because net run rate could still play a role.

Key Upcoming Matches

India v Bangladesh – 2 November

This particular fixture has the power to completely alter Group 2. With just one game remaining, a victory for Bangladesh would give them a two-point lead over India in the group, perhaps allowing Bangladesh to steal India’s semifinal position in the last round of games. India will have a strong chance of making the semi-finals if they prevail over Zimbabwe in Sunday’s fifth and final group encounter.

Pakistan Vs South Africa: The one that largely chose chances for the knockout round failed to go their way as India conceded their top spot after sorrowing their first defeat in the competition, to South Africa, by 5 wickets in Perth. Where do Pakistan’s semi-final chances

After India’s loss to South Africa

Sunday was a big day for Pakistan. Three matches from the Group 2 fittings were said to define their probabilities for the semi-final round in the 2022 T20 World Cup. Losses to India and then to Zimbabwe have left much of Pakistan’s chances on how other opponents in the group perform. For the majority of Sunday, Pakistan fans were pleased.

Bangladesh claimed the thriller against Zimbabwe following a final-over drama while the Babar Azam-led side lastly opened their account in the competition with a win against the Netherlands. However, the one that was to mainly choose chances for the knockout round, failed to go their way as India conceded their top spot after suffering their first defeat in the competition, to South Africa, by 5 wickets in Perth. So where do Pakistan’s semi-final chances now stand after India’s defeat?

T20 World cup

In Group 2, India was in the driver’s seat and erected only a win away from assuring themselves a semi-final spot. However, South Africa stunned the Men in Blue as they clutched the top spot in the table with the win in Perth and now stand clear pets to finish the group as toppers. India and Bangladesh stand next on the table, respectively, separated only by their net run rate. The NRR of +0.844 does give India the edge but also makes the impending Wednesday match between India and Bangladesh all the more crucial. South Africa Won By 5 Wickets

Can Pakistan still make the T20 World Cup semis after India’s loss?

Pakistan Vs South Africa: Needless to say, they do need to win their last two matches – against South Africa on 3 November and Bangladesh on 6 November – which will allow them to finish with an all-out of six points. However, with the India game not going their way, six opinions won’t be enough for Pakistan. Their hopes have now increasingly been reliant on other factors.

Their win against Proteas won’t allow them to take the highest spot in the table and they also need to win their last two T20 World Cup competitions by big bounds to stand a chance in terms of NRR if it comes down to a battle between teams with six facts.

All 26 players anticipated being on the Germany team roster for Qatar in the 2022 World Cup

Due to Germany’s performance at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, adjustments had to be made within the national team, and Joachim Love ultimately decided to step down as manager. The Germany World Cup record has given Hansi Flick’s team renewed hope for the 2022 Football World Cup in Qatar. Qatar FIFA World Cup fans to buy Spain Vs Germany Tickets from our website.

Germany is one of the most consistent national teams in World Cup history, winning two semi-finals since 2002 and placing second in 2014 after exiting the group stage in Russia four years earlier.

Flick is sure to make up for his losses in 2018 with a roster that is well-balanced with an experienced core and some of Europe’s most exciting young players.

Expected Germany Football World Cup squad 2022

The flick will choose the final selection of 26 Qatari players on Monday, November 14 from an official preliminary list of 35–55 players that he will submit to FIFA by Friday, October 21.

Based on the World Cup qualifications and friendlies from the previous year, those players are most likely to be in his provisional roster.

Stars, strengths and weaknesses of the German national football team

Germany’s World Cup reputation had been damaged by Russia in 2018, and Flick will face pressure to make sure that memory is never brought up in national football.

The German World Cup record may change in 2018, as every tournament since the turn of the century has featured at least a semifinal.

Being eliminated from the Euro 2020 round of 16 doesn’t do Flick, who has been praised as one of the best young coaches in international competition, credit.

Stars

Evergreen Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and Thomas Muller of Bayern Munich appear to be playing in their final World Cup, while their Bavarian comrades might be in Qatar. the secret of learning Flick.

With the goals and ingenuity of Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane, Germany has built upon Joshua Kimmich’s stellar play as a focal point in the midfield.

Strengths

As a key component of Neuer-Kimmich-Muller, Antonio Rudiger will bolster the German defence, and for Flick, being able to dominate the centre of the field will be essential.

Kimmich and Manchester City star Ilkay Gundogan will be paired in midfield, and if Germany needs to add a midfielder, Leon Goretzka will also be chosen.

Weaknesses

As Qatar’s fictitious number 9, the ball will likely alternate between Muller and Kai Havertz of Chelsea. While both players have the ability to score goals, neither team has Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, or Robert Lewandowski as their primary strikers.

Germany Football World Cup Group

Germany, which is now ranked 12th in FIFA, will undoubtedly win Group E.

Flick’s first significant test at the World Cup likely to be against Spain on November 27, in their second group encounter, after victories over Costa Rica and Japan.

Germany vs. Japan lineup

Despite not playing in the Nations League’s championship match, captain Ter Stegen will reclaim his spot as a crucial player with Flick. Along with Niklas Sule at centre defence, Rudiger is back as well. If Flick wants to start up front, Robin Gosens may be a left back alternative.

Flick can start without Goretzka and follow Muller or Havertz with the dynamic Bayern trio of Gnabry, Sane, and Jamal Musiala.

Can Germany replace players on the FIFA World Cup squad?

Teams competing in the World Cup can only make changes before the first match of the tournament, and then only under extremely rare circumstances, once the final roster of 26 men has been formalised.

“A player in the final list will only be replaced owing to a significant injury or illness within 24 hours before the start of his team’s first game,” state the tournament’s official rules.

A replacement player will be accepted if FIFA deems that the injury is “severe enough to prohibit the player from partaking in the 2022 FIFA World Cup,” which the team in issue must submit a medical report for. The provisional squad that was submitted to FIFA in October must be used to make substitutions.

Babar Azam promises to return stronger as he explains Pakistan’s path to redemption

It doesn’t get much more heartbreaking than a last-ball defeat to neighbours and rivals India in front of a packed crowd at the MCG. But perhaps a loss on the last ball to Zimbabwe in Perth might just trump it.

Two defeats by the narrowest of margins have left Pakistan on the brink at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, but not yet totally out of the picture in terms of qualification for the semi-finals.

“To be honest, it’s hard (to qualify now), but we have two days, and we’ll have a sit together and discuss,” a glum Babar Azam said in his media conference after the loss to Zimbabwe.

“We will come back stronger,” he continued. “To be honest, we were not up to the mark, starting with the first six overs in the bowling, but later on we finished well.

“But in the batting time, we had our collapse. The batting was not up to the mark. When I and (Mohammad) Rizwan were out, Shan (Masood) and Shadab (Khan) built a partnership, but after that collapse we did not finish well.”

Out of Pakistan’s hands

In addition to relying on other outcomes abroad, Pakistan will need to win all three of their remaining matches more on those in a moment.

Now Babar and his team can score a maximum of six points. In other words, Pakistan will not qualify if any two of India, South Africa, or Zimbabwe win two of their remaining three games. It is certain that.

It might come down to Net Run Rate if Pakistan finished with six points and only one team had more than that; as the moment, India and South Africa are far ahead in that category.

However, for Pakistan to qualify, they would need to win their final three games, India to defeat South Africa, Bangladesh, and Zimbabwe to finish first and second in their respective groups, and Zimbabwe to lose to either Bangladesh or the Netherlands.

So it’s not mathematically impossible, but a lot of outcomes must favour Pakistan.

Will they be able to uphold their half of the bargain? What awaits in the final three matchups is as follows:

Pakistan’s three ‘must-win’ fixtures

Sunday 30 October: Netherlands v Pakistan, Perth Stadium

To set the tone for their pursuit of a semi-final position, Pakistan will need to defeat the Netherlands with a win—and a big win. The outcomes of the remaining games on Sunday, October 30, which have Bangladesh playing Zimbabwe earlier in Brisbane and India and South Africa following Pakistan’s encounter in Perth, might also be crucial. The final and lone T20I between Pakistan and Netherlands, which the Asian team easily won, took place 13 years ago.

State of Play in Group 2 – Can Pakistan still qualifies?

The Group 2 qualifying stakes are starting to take shape after two rounds of games, with India in the lead and Pakistan in serious peril.

However, there is still much at stake as the six sides in Group 2 vie for two spots in the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup semifinals.

We examine the current situation and describe how Pakistan may yet be able to qualify.

Who’s in the driving seat to reach the semi-finals?

With a maximum of four points from their first two games, India leads the group and is in a great position to advance to the semifinals.

With a Net Run Rate of +1.425, the team is off to a strong start, and it will take a significant improvement for Rohit Sharma’s team to avoid finishing in the top two.

With three games remaining, the rain-interrupted draw between South Africa and Zimbabwe leaves both teams just one point behind India, which might have a significant impact on the standings.

After their stunning victory over Pakistan, Zimbabwe now has a chance, but they will likely still need to win at least two, if not all three of their remaining games.

Due to a remarkable Net RR of +5.200 that was produced by the devastating 104-run victory over Bangladesh on Thursday, South Africa has an advantage over Zimbabwe.

That in itself is effectively worth an extra point at this stage.

Can Pakistan still make it?

Pakistan needs to do something extraordinary to go to the semifinals after suffering two defeats, both of which came on the last ball of games against India and Zimbabwe.

Although it is increasingly doubtful, it is still mathematically conceivable for Pakistan to make it to the last four.

The first task for Babar Azam’s team is to win each of their final three games, which are against Bangladesh on November 6 and the Netherlands on November 6, South Africa on November 3 and Netherlands on November 8.

However, Pakistan has no control over it. The most number of points Pakistan can get is six if any two of India, Zimbabwe, or South Africa win two of their remaining three games.

A large margin of victory in at least one of the remaining games wouldn’t harm either because Net RR could still play a role.

Key Upcoming Matches

Bangladesh v Zimbabwe – Sunday 30 October

With two games left, whichever team wins tonight will put themselves right in the fight for qualification. It should be an interesting matchup because both teams’ bowling squads have shown promise throughout the tournament so far.

India v South Africa – Sunday 30 October

When the team in third place in the world rankings plays the team in second place, it will be a big game for the tournament and India may almost certainly qualify. Both teams will still be sure of making it, but South Africa would be especially vulnerable if they lost considering that they lost to Zimbabwe in the rain and dropped points. It makes mathematical sense for Pakistan to desire South Africa to lose this game, which would put the supporters in a difficult situation.

Pakistan v South Africa – Thursday 03 November

The Pakistan vs. South Africa match in Sydney could be a game-changing encounter for both teams, depending on the outcomes of the matches that came before it. Even without the possibility of qualification being on the line, it’s a significant matchup between two of the best teams in the world.

USA World Cup Squad: Full Schedule, Group Stage, ones to watch, Odds, kit & more

After placing third in the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying rounds and being included in the anticipated world cup team, the USA has clinched a spot in Qatar. Gregg Berhalter’s team tied Costa Rica for first place in the Octagon standings with 25 points, but thanks to a great goal differential, they earned one of the three automatic qualifying slots, along with Canada and Mexico. Qatar FIFA World Cup fans can buy England Vs USA Tickets from our website.

It was a fitting comeback following three years of steady success for a side that missed the 2018 World Cup in Russia, their first since 1990. The US won both the CONCACAF Gold Cup and CONCAC Nations League finals in 2021, defeating Mexico to retain both titles.

Many of the players the head coach can choose from are recognised to European audiences, including Christian Pulisic of Chelsea, who represents America’s highest expectations for the competition. The majority of the qualifying matches were won by Tyler Adams of Leeds United, with Giovanni Reyna of Dortmund and Josh Sargent of Norwich City serving as attacking threats. Young players Malik Tillman, Ricardo Pepi, and Brendon Aaronson all had promising futures.

The USA world cup team, who recently performed well in the FIFA World Cup group stage, is ecstatic about the possibility of playing Iran and Wales, albeit it will be more difficult to defeat England.

Reaching the round of 16 would be seen as a victory, while a win and a draw could be sufficient to place second.

Group matches (GMT)

USA vs Wales, Monday 21 November – 19:00

England vs USA, Friday 25 November – 19:00

Iran vs USA, Tuesday 29 November – 19:00

Expected USA FIFA World Cup squad

Goalkeepers: Sean Johnson (New York City FC), Matt Turner (Arsenal), Ethan Horvath (Luton Town)

Defenders: Sergino Dest (AC Milan), Reggie Cannon (FC Dallas), Erik Palmer-Brown (Troyes), Aaron Long (New York Red Bulls), Sam Vines (Royal Antwerp), Mark McKenzie (KRC Genk), Walker Zimmerman (Nashville SC), Joseph Scally (Borussia Monchengladbach), Deandre Yedlin (Inter Miami CF)

Midfielders: Tyler Adams (Leeds United), Kellyn Acosta (LAFC), Johnny Cardoso (Internacional), Malik Tillman (Rangers), Luca de la Torre (Celta de Vigo), Weston McKennie (Juventus)

Forwards: Jesus Ferreira (FC Dallas), Brenden Aaronson (Leeds United), Ricardo Pepi (Groningen), Paul Arriola (FC Dallas), Jordan Morris (Swansea City), Josh Sargent (Norwich City), Christian Pulisic (Chelsea), Giovanni Reyna (Borussia Dortmund)

Ones to watch

Christian Pulisic, 24, of Chelsea, is unquestionably the team’s greatest player. Although he hasn’t performed as well as he’d planned in the Premier League this year, the American striker has scored 21 goals in 52 games and is still a constant threat to score. He has the moniker “Captain America” for a good cause. Football World Cup 2022 fans can buy Iran Vs USA Tickets from our website.

Giovanni Reyna is a footballer with tremendous potential. While injuries hindered his development at Dortmund in 2021–2022, the 19-year-old appeared to have secured the number 7 jersey when Jadon Sancho joined Manchester United. This season, he only had a few appearances for Germany, but in the 3-0 victory over Copenhagen in September, he made history by becoming the first American player to record two assists in a Champions League match.

Chance of winning the World Cup (taken from Betfair)

100/1

Prediction

In a winnable set, the United States has a chance to advance to the elimination round. They will prepare ahead of time to attack Wales and Iran. However, the Americans have pleasant recollections of England from the World Cup. In the group stage of South Africa’s 2010 World Cup, they drew 1-1 with the Three Lions. If they proceed, it wouldn’t come as a complete surprise. Although it seems implausible, England and Wales are the two teams in Group B with the best records on paper.

FIFA World Cup 2022: Tyler Adams of the USMNT misses Leeds United’s defeat due to injury, raising concerns over Qatar

Tyler Adams was left off the lineup owing to what the team characterised as a minor muscular issue, and he did not play in Leeds United’s 3-2 defeat to Fulham. Since joining Leeds United in the summer, Adams has played every minute for the team coached by his countryman Jesse Marsh in midfield.

Although no catastrophic injuries are anticipated, any hiccups between now and then should be of worry. As the weeks running up to November 14 approach, teams release players for the Football World Cup.

Gregg Berhalter didn’t have to worry about General Adams in the middle of the field for a season. when a lot of Americans didn’t routinely play for their clubs. Adams plays a similar role for Leeds United as he does for the national team, organising the defence by using his vision and pressing skills.

Adams is anticipated to play for Leeds United against Liverpool on October 29, but for the moment, you’re more interested in what the players and coaches are saying about the World Cup. Given their significance to the national team, a protagonist like Adams probably won’t want to put anything to the test if they aren’t feeling 100%.

Tyler Adams

However, if these players are important members of the national team, the coach should keep it in mind as well. In accordance with Qatar’s shortened schedule, each game will last 90 minutes, and they will not take breaks.

Given that the World Cup often occurs in the off-season between June and July, this presents a special issue. allowing players time to rest after a demanding European season. But on November 13, most European contests are suspended. After that, there won’t be much time before the World Cup begins on November 20. Players and coaches have never faced anything like it before. Which makes the importance of tiny injuries like these even greater.

Adams must be entirely healthy and prepared to play for the USMNT. Adams is a prominent member of the national squad and one of Berhalter’s captains.

Kellyn Acosta is not Adams’ defensive midfielder, however he can fill in as a six when necessary. who has played since leaving the New York Reds and has seen it all in his little career. The Bulls compete in the Bundesliga, Eredivisie, and Champions League. Fans of the USMNT will be a little anxious until Adams is formally re-added to the Leeds United squad.

USMNT 2022 FIFA World Cup Jerseys, Logo, home & away Jersey released

There will be 32 nations fighting for international honour at the FIFA World Cup in 2022. The eagerly awaited 2022 Football World Cup will feature the men’s national team of the United States. which gets underway in Qatar officially on November 20th. After the US national team missed out on the final World Cup, fans were curious to see how the Americans did.

In Group B, Team USA—which advanced to the round of 16 in each of its previous two World Cups—will compete against Wales, England, and Iran. The NFL has made its roster public as the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup draws near. At the beginning of the competition in November, it is worn.

USA home kit feature

Home uniforms emphasise America’s diversity while also sporting a classic red, white, and blue colour pattern. The tie-dye blue shirt, royal blue shorts, and white socks make up the away uniform, which is more contemporary.

Both jerseys will be used by the US women’s national team for the remainder of the current season and through 2023.

For the USMNT, who want to make it to the Round of 16 for the first time since 2002, these jerseys are a new beginning. Young playmakers on the USA team include Brenden Aaronson, Tyler Adams, Weston McKinnie, and Christian Pulisic. The USMNT’s youthful vitality played a significant role in Nike’s decision to create a new away jersey.

While the US team crest is prominently placed on the front and centre of the home shirt, it has a straightforward design. The red and blue design elements on the white jersey are a nod to the hues used in the American flag.

“The home shirt features a timeless red, white and blue colour scheme and is inspired by America’s diversity and the storied heritage of various sports, leagues and associations,” US Soccer and Nike added in their joint release.

ICC T20 World Cup 2022: After Zimbabwe’s defeat, former Pakistani players criticized Babar Azam’s team selection

After Pakistan lost by a slim margin of one run to Zimbabwe in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, Shoaib Akhtar and Salman Butt severely criticized the current team selection.

Ex-players criticized the average mindset and team selection after Pakistan’s shocking loss to Zimbabwe, which left the previous champions in danger of missing the T20 World Cup semifinals.

In their Thursday match against a lower-ranked Zimbabwe, Pakistan was unable to chase down 130. After losing by four wickets against India, Babar Azam and company suffered their second loss in as many games.

Soon after, Babar, PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja, chief selector Muhammad Wasim, and head coach Saqlain Mushtaq came under fire on social media from supporters and former players.

“Very very embarrassing and disappointing,” former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar said.

“The fact is you have to play hard to even beat a team like Zimbabwe they wouldn’t be defeated by themselves. Our selections have been average and our mindset has been average and it has landed Pakistan cricket in this mess today,” he added.

Other former players also expressed disappointment and concern at the state of Pakistan cricket with some describing the defeat as hurting.

“Is this where our cricket has come to? We can’t score 130 runs against a low-ranked team like Zimbabwe. If this is our batting quality then God helps our cricket,” Former Test opener Mohsin Khan said.

The former head coach, who also served as chief selector, added that Pakistan didn’t show any intent.

“Zimbabwe bowlers were disciplined and persistent and it was clear they wanted to win this match more than us,” he said.

Test great Javed Miandad also questioned the player selection

“This is what happens when you allow the non-performing batter to remain in the team and keep deserving players out.

“I have said it before international cricket is not a place for learning and unfortunately every time the team has done badly we have tried to sweep it under the carpet by saying they are learning,” Miandad said.

Miandad said that Pakistan’s approach to the chase was disturbing as no batter appeared to be geared towards finishing the match.

“Seeing the way some of our batters threw their wickets away it was shameful because they are professional cricketers.”

Former captain Rashid Latif said Thursday’s result had left the World Cup wide open and made it more interesting. “It has become a very difficult situation for Pakistan now to qualify for the semifinals but overall it makes the tournament open and shows you can’t take any team lightly nowadays,” he added.

Ex-skipper and opener Salman Butt also slammed the team’s performance and also questioned Babar’s captaincy.

“These players were not just equipped to play well in Australia and once Muhammad Rizwan and Babar Azam didn’t get going the writing was on the wall for us,” he said.

“I have been saying all along you don’t make someone a captain so that he can learn while playing and leading the national team. You only appoint someone as captain when you know he has the required leadership qualities to lead the other players well.”

Former Test spinner Iqbal Qasim said all the dreams of Pakistani cricket supporters and fans to watch their team play in the final of the World Cup had been shattered in just one match because of poor captaincy and a timid approach from the batsmen.

“It is a sad and disappointing day for Pakistan cricket to lose to Zimbabwe like this. Our cricket is not this bad that we should get such a result.”

ICC T20 World Cup 2022 | After Zimbabwe’s defeat, Babar Azam defends the decision to use an additional pacer

In response to Zimbabwe’s shocking Twenty20 World Cup victory on Thursday, Pakistan captain Babar Azam defended his choice to field a second fast bowler, but he also said that the 2009 champions were not up to grade overall.

The decision to include paceman Mohammad Wasim over hitter Asif Ali originally appeared to have paid off as he claimed 4-24 to limit Zimbabwe to 130-8, but Pakistan only reached 129-8 in 20 overs at Perth Stadium due to a batting collapse.

Following a heartbreaking last-ball loss to archrival India, it was Pakistan’s second loss in as many games. To maintain their tenuous semi-final aspirations, they now have a game against the winless Netherlands on Sunday that they must win.

“It’s very hard as a team or as a captain. We weren’t up to the mark in all three departments, but we’ll sit and discuss the mistakes and then we’ll come back strongly,” Babar said.

Babar said he did not think an additional fast bowler had left their middle-order weakened.

“This pitch required fast bowlers, so we had that in the planning and that’s why we had an extra fast bowler,” Babar said, before urging his team to regroup quickly.

“To be honest, it’s hard, but we have two days and we’ll have a sit together and discuss.”

ICC T20 World Cup 2022: Shoaib Akhtar slams Pakistan over their shock loss against Zimbabwe and says, “Average mindset, average results”

Pakistan’s heartbreaking one-run loss to Zimbabwe at the ICC T20 World Cup in the 2022 Men’s T20 World Cup caused rumblings worldwide.

Shoaib Akhtar, a former Pakistani bowler, hit out at Babar Azam and company after Pakistan’s heartbreaking one-run loss to Zimbabwe at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, stating he had anticipated such a thing would happen.

Notably, the former Pakistani bowler had already claimed that Pakistan may be eliminated right away. As Zimbabwe edged Pakistan by one run in a low-scoring thriller to win their first Super-12 game of the 2017 T20 World Cup on Thursday at the Perth Stadium, Pakistan’s over-reliance on their opening batting partnership came back to haunt them.

Due to a batting collapse, Pakistan’s bowlers were left to chase and win the game for them, but they botched up the meager chase. Sikandar Raza, an all-around player, quickly dismantled the chase by taking three wickets.

“That’s embarrassing, to be most polite!” he had tweeted first. He then followed it with his match analysis and said that nothing can be done on its own, one needs to put in the effort, he tweeted in Hindi.

“Agar Zimbabwe hai toh khud he ho jaaye ga sab kuch? Nahi, khud nahi hota, kerna parta hai,” he added in another tweet.

The former Pakistan pacer tweeted a video with the caption, “Average mindset, and Average results. That’s the reality, face it.”
The former pacer also called out the choice of players for the tournament and stressed the difficulty that the team may face in qualifying for the semi-finals.

In a video, he said, “Very very embarrassing. Keep on selecting average players and team management. This is the outcome. I am super disappointed. I mean losing against Zimbabwe? Now you are not even going to qualify with ease.”

Pakistan got off to a poor start in the game while chasing the mark as openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were wary of the new ball and only managed to score three runs from the first two overs. The first and second pitches were bowled by Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani, who both maintained tight lines while getting bounced off of the pitch.

To start the inning, Babar and Rizwan each hit a boundary in Ngarava’s second over. However, the Pakistani captain was dismissed by Brad Evans in the fourth over, returning him for a pitiful score of 4. (9).

Rizwan did the same after Muzarabani sent him back for a 14(16), exposing the Pakistani team’s middle order.

Iftikhar Ahmed and Shan Masood, Pakistan’s top scorers from the previous game, were at the crease as the powerplay came to a close at 28/2.

The partnership did not last long, though, as Iftikhar was dismissed by Luke Jongwe in the eighth over, further complicating matters for the Pakistani team.

Masood kept the scoreboard moving and led his team to 54/3 after the 10 overs while making some beautiful strokes.

Masood and Shadab Khan’s batting partnership appeared to be enough to get the team over the finish line, but after the introduction of spinner Sikandar Raza in the 14th over, the story took an unexpected turn.

Raza turned the game in his team’s favor by dismissing Shadab and Haider Ali in two straight deliveries, giving them a chance to win.

Masood, the designated hitter, became the third victim of Raza’s off-spin in the sixteenth over as the Zimbabwean players began to think they had a chance to win. Wasim Jr., a tailender, joined Mohammad Nawaz for the run chase on this wicket.

When they sensed that victory was within reach, the pacers began to bowl with their tails up. Ngarava then delivered a 16th over for three runs to further put pressure on the Pakistani team.

The batsmen swung and missed under duress as they needed 29 runs from the final three overs. Nawaz made an effort to help his team cross the finish line by hitting a six in the 19th over to bring the score down to 11 from the remaining overs.

Brad Evans gave up a boundary on the second ball of the over, and it appeared as though Pakistan would win the game. However, Evans bowled brilliantly to get rid of Nawaz on the fifth ball, and he then maintained composure to defend three off the final ball to help Zimbabwe defeat Pakistan by one run.

Zimbabwe’s batting lineup had earlier been subjected to a hail of bowling hell from Pakistani bowlers, who held them to just 130/8.

Mohammad Wasim Jr., Pakistan’s additional pacer, had a huge impact on the team’s performance, finishing with his best T20I bowling figures (4/24) and keeping Zimbabwe’s total low. Brad Evans and Sean Williams contributed to the team’s 100-run milestone.

Sikandar Raza’s outstanding bowling effort earned him the title of “Player of the Match.”

THE LOWDOWN

PAKISTAN Vs NETHERLANDS | T20 World Cup

  • Pakistan’s T20 World Cup hopes are now formally hanging by a thread after once again coming out the wrong end of an absolute thriller, this time losing by one run to Zimbabwe to remain useless in their ‘Super 12’s group’.
  • Following consecutive defeats, Pakistan may look to make changes in a bid to try and turn things around but eventually, it’s the mental aspect of their presentations that needs looking at, specifically the ability to close out competitions when the pressure is on.

NETHERLANDS

  • As widely likely, the Netherlands were comprehensively beaten by India in their second ‘Super 12’s’ fixtures, with 56 runs the difference between the two countries as the Netherlands got nowhere near their win target of 180.
  • If the Netherlands are to emerge winning in this one, much you feel will depend on all-rounder Bas de Leede, who is now enjoying a real breakthrough tournament on the world stage having taken nine wickets across the opposition so far. To know more about Pakistan T20 World Cup Tickets click here.
Pak Vs Netherlands will take place at Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia

THE PREDICTION

  • Pakistan’s lack of callousness when it counts has cost them big time so far in Australia and they cannot allow themselves to be in a similar condition this time around. With the greatest respect, the Netherlands is arguably the weakest side left in the tournament, and whilst they have done outstandingly to reach the ‘Super 12’s’ stage, Pakistan contains superior individual players with both bat and ball. Babar Azam’s men should not be letting this match go the coldness and should instead be winning it extensively. Failure to do so would see them reasonably hammered by their groups both back home and on the ground.

Ex-USA stars report mixed emotions ahead of Football World Cup

A minority of former USA internationals have reported mixed feelings about the current team ahead of the 2022 Football World Cup in Qatar. As reported by Fox, ex-USA players have been giving their vision of how the national team will fare on the big stage. The USA is out of procedure heading to Qatar, with Gregg Berhalter’s side without a win in their previous three competitions.

The intolerable run began with a 1-1 CONCACAF Nations League draw with El Salvador, followed by a friendly 2-0 loss to Japan. Their modern game, a friendly against Saudi Arabia, ended in a goalless draw. Moreover, worrying form at the international level has now been joined with subjects for many players at the club level, specifically wounds and the lack of playing time.

USA Football World Cup

Star players Christian Pulisic and Sergino Dest have found minutes hard to come by this period for their specific clubs. The former seemingly cannot break into the fold at Chelsea, while Dest has contained very little for AC Milan since making a loan move from Barcelona.

Favored goalkeeper Matt Turner has been Aaron Ramsdale’s assistant at Arsenal, while defenders Walker Zimmerman and Aaron Long were playing for clubs that were removed from the MLS playoffs earlier this month.

As for wounds, Timothy Weah has played just 65 minutes for Lille this season due to a foot wound. Fellow attacker Giovanni Reyna has also missed a large chunk of the present campaign through various injury struggles.

And Leeds’ midfielder Tyler Adams missed the club’s meeting with Fulham on Sunday due to a muscle problem. Such a situation has caused ex-USA professionals to have bad feelings ahead of the major tournament this winter.

Ex-USA skipper “definitely worried”

“I’m worried,” said previous USA goalkeeper and Captain Kasey Keller. “There was nothing in those last two friendlies that were cert structure. We’re still seeing key players struggling with game time at the clubs.

“We’re seeing key players purifying from injuries, as well. There’s nothing about the preparation that should give you a lot of sureness.”

USA Football World Cup

Former USA defender Alexi Lalas empirical:

“This is not a perfect team and I think USA Football World Cup Coach Gregg Berhalter will be the first to say that. Ideally, you want your players playing and you want them playing well.”

Not all doom and gloom for the USA There is, however, some hope among former USA internationals that the current crop of players can have a creative competition.

FC Groningen striker Ricardo Pepi was also on the score sheet for his side.

The likes of Reyna and Weston McKennie listed their first goals of the season for Borussia Dortmund and Juventus correspondingly over the weekend. FC Groningen striker Ricardo Pepi was also on the score sheet for his side. Brenden Aaronson meanwhile is enjoying a very strong distinct campaign for Leeds in the Premier League.

Ex-USA midfielder Stu Holden has high hopes, saying: “I still have a belief in this team, based on what they’ve done in big moments in the past.

“When the pressure is the highest and in the big, big moments, under the lights, these guys have this confidence in themselves that will I think hold them in good stead.”

Previous USA Football World cup captain Landon Donovan meanwhile suggested a strong start is crucial. He commented: “If it goes well early we could be an unsafe team in this competition. “If it doesn’t, I could see it not going well at all. I don’t see too much of a middle ground just because young, inexpert teams tend to be high and decent or low.”

Pressure is increasing as Pakistan prepares a reaction against Zimbabwe

After losing to India in their opening game, Pakistan can’t afford any mistakes, so the pressure will be on when they play Zimbabwe in Perth on Thursday.

Pakistan and the Netherlands both had 0 points after the first round of games due to the circumstances of Pakistan’s defeat against India, which was difficult to accept.

Along with their neighbours, South Africa was Pakistan’s other main opponent for a qualifying spot before to the event. However, with Bangladesh’s successful start and Zimbabwe’s development as a well-rounded threat, Babar Azam’s team has a lot to be afraid of in Group 2.

Iftikhar Ahmed informed reporters that the leadership members of the squad have been anxious to emphasise that it’s not the time to dwell. Pakistan will need to recover from defeat.

Cricket fans can book Pakistan vs Zimbabwe Tickets on our website at exclusively discounted prices.

“The way the captain, the coach supported the whole squad, they were exceptional,” he said. “And the message is clear that was the first game, now time to move forward.”

Zimbabwe made it through to the Super 12 stage partly thanks to a strong and pacy bowling attack, a group of players who should thrive on the bouncy service in Perth.

Richard Ngarava is a doubt after his injury in the rain-interrupted fixture against South Africa, but captain Craig Ervine is hopeful that his big fast bowler can make an appearance.

“I think he’s doing all right,” Ervine said. “Even after today’s training session, the game only starts at seven tomorrow. It’s quite a bit of time for him to recover and hopefully it’s not too serious.”

A loss for either side in this fixture would leave them needing a remarkable turnaround to secure a final-four spot.

Predicted Playing XIs

Pakistan: Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Shan Masood, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, Asif Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Shaheen Afridi

Zimbabwe: Craig Ervine (c), Regis Chakabva (wk), Wesley Madhevere, Sean Williams, Sikandar Raza, Milton Shumba, Ryan Burl, Luke Jongwe, Richard Ngarava, Tendai Chatara, Blessing Muzarabani

Key Players

Sikandar Raza

The captain of Zimbabwe was named Player of the Match in the most recent Round 1 match against Scotland, scoring 40 runs off just 23 balls to advance Zimbabwe to the Super 12. He is the cornerstone of Zimbabwe’s batting order and an important contributor with the ball. Raza will almost probably have to resign if there is even the slightest possibility of a surprise.

Shaheen Afridi

In this event, early wickets are crucial for putting the lower-ranked teams on the ropes, and Pakistan’s Shaheen is the bowler you should bet to score runs in the Powerplay. He has an incredible record early in an innings, and Zimbabwe will be fully aware of the challenge ahead.

Dream11 Fantasy Picks

Captaincy Pick: Sikandar Raza

In 2022, Sikandar Raza has already spewed fire. The 36-year-old has scored 652 runs and taken 20 wickets at averages of 38.35 and 17.90, respectively, in 20 T20 Internationals this year.

Must-have: Babar Azam

The Pakistani captain and opening batter serves as the anchor at the top of the order for his team. A player of his calibre might destroy Zimbabwe, and if he contributes significantly, Pakistan will be well on its way to winning.

Differential Pick: Mohammad Nawaz

It won’t be simple for the Pakistani spinner to recover from the heartbreaking last-over loss to India. However, Nawaz is an excellent bowler and will be seeking a quick response and the opportunity to leave a lasting impression on the competition.

T20 World Cup: Pakistan look to bounce back in Zimbabwe clash today

Pakistan will play Zimbabwe in their second group encounter on Thursday in an effort to pick up their T20 World Cup campaign.

Babar Azam and his team will be hoping to get back to winning ways in their Group 2 match against Zimbabwe in Perth after losing the blockbuster against archrivals India on the very last ball of an extraordinarily thrilling match at a roaring Melbourne Cricket Ground last Sunday as Virat Kohli played a masterpiece knock.

For the first time ever, the two teams are competing against one another in a T20 World Cup.

Only one of the 17 T20 Internationals the greenshirts have played against Zimbabwe has ended in a loss, and that was in Harare last year during a bilateral series. Given the highly unpredictable nature of T20 cricket, Babar and colleagues must be vigilant even though Pakistan appears to be stronger than Zimbabwe on paper.

The spirit to pull off an upset that can derail Pakistan, who are known for their own brand of unpredictability in the game’s shortest format, can be given to Craig Ervine’s team by Zimbabwe’s rain-marred first Super 12 game against South Africa in Hobart on Monday, which gave the former a crucial point.

‘Pakistan still hurting from India loss’

Iftikhar Ahmed, an all-rounder for Pakistan, said that his team was “heartbroken” and still suffering from the agonising first loss to India in the T20 World Cup.

When Pakistan plays Zimbabwe in Perth on Thursday, there won’t be much space for error because Pakistan is anticipated to win.

“The hurt remains after losing such a big match. We were heartbroken,” said middle-order batsman Iftikhar, who hit 51 in Pakistan’s 159-8 against India, but it turned out to be just not quite enough.

Iftikhar said that morale was high despite the lingering heartache and praised Babar for his handling of the team in the aftermath of the India loss.

A video of Babar’s pep talk to his broken side went viral.

“We have to learn from our mistakes. Don’t fall, the tournament has just begun. We have lost as a team and will win as a team,” Babar said in the widely watched video footage.

“The way Babar and the management supported the players, it was good. Babar and coaches told us that ‘it was not our last game, everybody put in the effort’,” Iftikhar said.

“So our morale is high.”

Pakistan will be strongly fancied to beat Zimbabwe — who are ranked 11 in the world to Pakistan’s three — and belatedly get their World Cup going.

Pakistan need a victory for their confidence too.

“Zimbabwe is an international team and we have to play strong against them like any other team,” said the 32-year-old Iftikhar.

“Important to play well and keep up the confidence. The players are hungry to perform.”

Pakistan pace bowler Haris Rauf bowled well at the MCG until he was hit for two successive sixes by Kohli in a game-changing moment at the end of the 19th over.

“The Australian pitches are fast and bouncy and we have prepared for that,” said Iftikhar.

“Haris is our main strike bowler and we expect him to bowl better here and win it for Pakistan.”
